Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak Climbing offers the thrill of adventure trekking and peak climbing in the Langtang region which is one of the closest trekking destinations to the Kathmandu Valley. It is a great addition to trekking in the region as Yala Peak does not require mountaineering experience. This peak climbing is one of the easiest peaks for climbing all over the country. We will pass through the charming villages with wonderful cultural possessions while enjoying the unparalleled views of the mountains in the heart and background of the well-known the Langtang region. For this peak climbing, most mountains can be climbed by first-timer with good health and basic climbing skill while some peaks which require technical climbing skills and only professional climbers should climb them. This is a spectacular retreat that matches the amazing beauty of nature with a taste of the unique the local culture that makes your journey so wonderful. The landscapes are equally charming with rice fields, waterfalls, and alpine glacial ranges. Climbing at this peak is without a doubt one of the world’s most wonderful destinations and it’s perfect for the nature lover. Our trail passes along the Tamang and Tibetan settlements with their cultural diversity and living style.

Yala Peak Climbing is suitable for all climbers who have at least some knowledge about trekking, but it is also a fantastic mountaineering trip for beginners. We will trek along the path ascending through the beautiful forests and the small settlement of this region.

This peak climbing begins from Syabrubesi after 7 hrs drive from Kathmandu valley. The trail route offers spectacular natural scenery, incredible landscapes along with the profusion of alpine wild species like snow leopard and red panda. The destination of this peak climbing is for those wanting easy peak climbing or is without any previous climbing experience. During the time of trekking, we have a great chance to see the wonderful views of the mountain which includes Langtang Lirung, Gang Chhenpo, Naya Kangri, and Yala Peak. We will enter the Langtang National Park which is known as the home of many rare birds, animals, and native flora. The best time for trekking is from March to May and from September to November.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 7 hours

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 6 hours

Day 04: Trek to Langtang village (3,430m) 6-7 hours

Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) 3- 4 hours

Day 06: Rest Day in Kyanjin Gompa

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you  land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to pick you up. You will directly drive towards the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, get further information about the trip, and have your dinner.       

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 7 hours

After morning breakfast, we will drive towards Syabrubesi. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and the lush forest of rhododendron. Before reaching Syabrubesi, we may have an opportunity to explore around the Chilime Hydropower winch is under the hills and spend one night in this wonderful Sherpa land.

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 6 hours

Today is the first day of trekking in the Langtang region where we walk from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. The suspension bridges and trails gradually ascend up to bamboo passing by the landslide. We have our lunch on the way then after move towards Lama Hotel where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Trek to Langtang village (3,430m) 6-7 hours

The day starts with a gentle climb. We will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron and oak, and we will have an opportunity to see the animals such as Langur, red panda, and Himalayan black bears  before reaching Langtang Village where we will spend one night.

Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) 3- 4 hours

The trail winds through the village and climbs a ridge topped by a large Chorten and then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall. After 4 to 5 hours walking we will reach our destination, check in at the hotel, explore all around the valley, and spend overnight.

Day 06: Rest Day in Kyanjin Gompa

This day is for the rest day. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast and then we will explore all around the Kyangjin Gompa. We will explore villages and have an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery.

Day 07: Trek to Yala Base Camp (4600m) 5-6 hours

This is a short training day for the climb to the summit the next day. From the base camp, we can see the wonderful views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way and then move towards Yala Base Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 08: Summit Yala Peak (5500m) and to Yala Peak Base Camp 8-9 hrs

In the early morning, we will start our trekking towards summiting Yala Peak. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain which includes Langtang Lirung and many other Tibetan mountains. After completing the summit of Yala Peak, we will back to Yala Base Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 09: Trek to Langtang village 7-8 hours

On the trail back following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village, we will have wonderful views of the mountains and the beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way and after taking some rest will move towards Langtang Village where we will spend one night.

Day 10: Trek to Thulo Syabru 5-6 hours

The trail is mostly downhill through the lush green vegetation. This is the last day of trekking on this route. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest, move towards Thulo Syabru and spend one night in this village.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda 7-8 hours

The trail follows a steeply ascending path passing through Dursagang along with the views of Langtang Himal. The slope is the sanctuary for the red panda and provides magnificent views of the mountain and landscapes.

Day 12: Trek to Tharapati (3600m) 7-8 hours

The trail steadily rises through the prickly-leaved with the wonderful views of the mountains and the beautiful valley. A steep trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest where there is no permanent settlement. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Tharapati where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Trek to Timbu 6-7 hours

The trek passes through the dense alpine forest and you will have plenty of chances to enjoy the beautiful Langtang massif and Ganesh Himal. After 6 hours of walking we will reach our destination, check in at the hotel, explore all around the valley, and spend overnight.

Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu

We will head back to Kathmandu Valley from the same route where we move towards Timbu. At the time of this drive, we will have our lunch on the way. After reaching Kathmandu Valley, we will check in at the hotel,spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 15: Final Departure

We will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful day in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you and you will give another chance to serve you.
