Tilicho Lake Trek is an adventure trek exploring a difficult trekking trail in the Annapurna region located in the North West part of Himalayan Nepal. This trek is similar to Annapurna Circuit trekking with a few customizations. Going through the Manang is special offering spectacular views of the white Himalayas. This magnificent lake trekking leads you to a quaint village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups. It is an great trail for experienced and adventurous trekkers who are looking for a more strenuous trek in the Himalayan part of Annapurna region. On this wonderful trek, we will have an opportunity to see wonderful views of the mountains, beautiful landscapes, awesome natural scenery, and the lush forest of rhododendron which, known as the national flower of Nepal. This beautiful trek is a great preface to the beauty of the Annapurna region and their lifestyle of Gurung community.
Tilicho Lake Trek is one of the most challenging trekking destinations in the Annapurna region. The trek begins from the Pokhara, also known as the City on the Lake. The trail leads to villages inhabited by a wide variety of people from different ethnic groups such as Gurung, Rai, Magar, and Thakali. We have an opportunity to learn about the culture, traditions, and the lifestyles of the local people. Most of the people are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.
The trek also offers majestic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many other mountains of this route. We have to a chance to enter the Annapurna Conservation Area which is well known as the home of many rare animals, birds, and local flora. This trek is perfect for nature-lovers and is an opportunity to see a lake at this high altitude. The best season for trekking is from February to June and from September to November.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to meet you. You will drive directly to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, hear additional information about the trip, and have dinner.
Day 02: Drive to Chamje (1,410m) 6-7 hours
The very next morning, if the hotel is able to prepare breakfast we will have our breakfast in the hotel, and if not we will have our breakfast on the way. We will enjoy a scenic drive along Prithvi highway where we will enjoy shortstops for lunch and scenic beauty all the way around. After a 6 to 7-hour drive from Kathmandu Valley, we will reach Chamje, check into the hotel, and explore all around the valley, and spend one night.
Day 03: Trek to Dharapani (1,960m) 6 – 7 hours
It takes almost 7 hours to reach Dharapani from Chamje. The trail from the Chamje descends until it reaches the river and then continues through the lush forest. We will spend one night in Dharapani.
Day 04: Trek to Chame (2,710m) 5 – 6 hours
We will walk through a few forested ridges on our way to Chame. This place is also known as the headquarters of the Manang District. We will have our lunch on the way and then we will move towards Chame where we will spend one night.
Day 05: Trek to Pisang (3,300m) 5 – 6 hours
The trail follows a steep and narrow river, winding through deep woodlands. Continuing walking on this route, we will come to a long Mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Pisang.
Day 06: Trek to Manang (3,500m) 6 – 7 hours
Leaving Pisang, the trail climbs the steep ridge that affords good views of the Manang Valley. The trail guarantees excellent views of the beautiful landscapes and the mighty mountain. This is the largest district.
Day 07: Trek to Khangsar (3745m) 2-3 hours
We will descend on the trail and pass by a Chorten and reach the Maryangdi River. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Khangsar. On the way, we have our lunch and trek toward Khangsar where we will spend one night.
Day 08: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m) 5-6 hours
From here, we will have a wonderful view of Tilicho Lake which is situated in the highest altitude of any lake in the world. We will have our lunch on the way and move towards Base Camp where we will spend one night.
Day 09: Visit Tilicho Lake or rest day in the lake
This day is a day for rest. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Tilicho Lake.
Day 10: Trek to Yak Kharka (4040m) 4-5 hours
From Tilicho Base Camp, the trail follows a route towards Yak Kharka where it crosses a stream, climbs to the village of Tenki, and continue to ascend out of the Marshyangdhi Valley turning northwest up to the valley of Jarsang Khola.
Day 11: Trek to Thorang Phedi: (4420m) 3-4 hours
Today we will make our way to the foot of the pass to Thorong Phedi. A short ascent up the mountain path on the river bank, we will follow a narrow trail across an unstable scree slope to reach today’s destination. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Thorong Phedi where we will spend one night.
Day 12: Trek to Muktinath (3,800m) 7 – 8 hours
This day will have an opportunity to see the magnificent views of the mountain while climbing or crossing the pass. It takes almost 8 hours to reach Muktinath where we will spend one night.
Day 13: Trek to Jomsom (2,715m) 5-6 hours
From here, we will trek on the windy trail of Kali Gandaki Valley. Before reaching Jomsom, we will have an opportunity to see caves, meadows, and also reach Kagbeni which is one of the best places in this trekking. After walking 5 to 6 hours from Muktinath we will finally reach Jomsom.
Day 14: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara (823m) 30mins
After having breakfast, we will drive to the local airport of Jomsom to take a flight to Pokhara also known as City on the Lake. After reaching Pokhara, we will explore all around the valley and spend one night in this beautiful valley.
Day 15: Drive to Kathmandu
We will drive back to Kathmandu valley, stopping for lunch on the way. After reaching Kathmandu Valley, we will check into the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.
Day 16: Final Departure
We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful time in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
