Rara Lake Trek

Rara Lake Trek is one of the most incredible and fascinating treks in all the Himalayan range which is to discover what lies in the far western region in Nepal. Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you will land in the international airport in Kathmandu then there will one person from our company to take-off you. You will directly drive towards the hotel to check out. At night you will meet your guide and counsel about the trip. And have our dinner.

Day 02: Fly to Nepalgunj (150m) 1 hour

If the hotel is able to make breakfast we will have our breakfast then after we will drive towards the local airport of Kathmandu valley to fly towards Nepalgunj. Upon 1-hour fly from Kathmandu valley, we will check out the hotel and explore all around the valley and spend one night.

Day 03: Fly to Jumla (2,540m) 20 minutes

After spending one night in Nepalgunj, we will fly towards Jumla. After 20 minutes flight from Nepalgunj, we will reach Jumla which is also the capital of the Karnali Zone and a gateway for trekkers who want to explore the remote Karnali region of Nepal.

Day 04: Trek to Chere Chaur (3055m)

This is the first-day walking trek in Rara Lake trek where we will walk from Jumla to Chere Chaur and from here; we will start our journey to the pristine Rara Lake. We will have our lunch on the way and taking some rest and slowly move towards Chere Chaur where we will spend one night.

Day 05: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m)

Our trail follows the western trails and slowly ascends upwards into the beautiful forest. We will walk continue through tranquil wilderness than on the downhill path for a couple of hours. We will pass through the cool forest and reaching on the summer grazing pasture area.

Day 06: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m)

On the way, we will pass through several villages and walk along the Jaljal Khola. Sinja village is one of the beautiful remotest villages with a very old ruin temple and monument, an ancient sculptured stone which is covered in moss and weeds and spend one night.

Day 07: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m)

The vegetation is sparser, allowing magical views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Ghorosingha where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.

Day 08: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m)

Today on a trail to an even higher elevation and the main attractions is monastery situated at the highest altitude in the world. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain beautiful landscape of this route and spend one night.

Day 09: Explore Rara Lake

In this day, we will have an opportunity to explore the Rara Lake which is one of the beautiful Lake all over Nepal. This place is an ideal place for relaxing and local explorations.

Day 10: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m)

The trail leads upwards through terraces lands with rice fields that seem impossible green. It is an enjoyable day in preparation for our further destinations to come.  And we will spend one night in Pina.

Day 11: Pina to Bumra (2850m)

A pleasant and refreshing first overnight stop in the high hill and we walk continue on the main trail. Our trail passes through the dense forest of red rhododendron. We will have our lunch on the way and slowly move towards Bumra where we will spend one night.

Day 12: Trek to Jumla (2540m)

Our trail descends and passes through the lush forest of birch. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscape. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Jumla where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu

From Jumla, we will move towards the local airport to fly towards Nepalgunj. After 20 minutes flight from Jumla, we will reach Nepalgunj and we will have our lunch and drive toward the airport to fly towards Kathmandu valley. Upon reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 14: Final departure
