Rara Lake Trek is one of the most incredible treks in all the Himalayan range. It offers the best scenery on the northwestern side of Nepal including the wilderness of mountains along with the shimmering beauty of serene lakes. This lake trek gives a taste of the natural wilderness and its silence.
The lake is a hidden gem and the trail leading to it still considered pristine. We will also be enjoying the magnificent views of the great mountains. Traveling through the remote trails of western mid-hills, we will explore the rural culture, traditions lifestyle, and the incredible biodiversity of the region. The fertile land of this region makes this good land for growing medicinal plants. This trek gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarters and intermingle with the local people. Trekking in this region, you will have an opportunity to explore the exotic flora and fauna, especially during the spring season.
Rara Lake Trek is a unique opportunity to explore all around the western part of Nepal. This is full of spectacular scenery, including beautiful huge hills although limited views of snow-capped peaks. The route also passes through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful mountain views. We will be surrounded by the beauty and arresting nature you have decided to explore. The trail is comprised of many ascents and descents through lowlands, alpine forests, and ethnic villages. We will have an opportunity to explore all around the Rara National Park which is the home of many rare birds and animals. The best season for trekking is from March to May and from September to November.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to meet you. You will directly drive to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, hear additional information about the trip, and have dinner.
Day 02: Fly to Nepalgunj (150m) 1 hour
If the hotel is able to make breakfast we will have our breakfast then after we will drive to the local airport of Kathmandu valley to fly to Nepalgunj. After a 1-hour flight, we will check into the hotel, explore the valley and spend one night.
Day 03: Fly to Jumla (2,540m) 20 minutes
After spending one night in Nepalgunj, we will fly to Jumla, the capital of the Karnali Zone and a gateway for trekkers who want to explore the remote Karnali region of Nepal.
Day 04: Trek to Chere Chaur (3055m)
We will walk from Jumla to Chere Chaur and from here, we will start our journey to the pristine Rara Lake. We will have our lunch on the way, take some rest and trek to Chere Chaur where we will spend one night.
Day 05: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m)
Our path follows the western trails and slowly ascends upwards into a beautiful forest. We will continue our walk through tranquil wilderness on a downhill path for a couple of hours. We will pass through a cool forest and reach a summer grazing pasture area.
Day 06: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m)
On the way, we will pass through several villages and walk along the Jaljal Khola. Sinja village is one of the most beautiful and remote villages with a very old temple ruin and monument, an ancient sculptured stone covered in moss, and spend one night.
Day 07: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m)
The vegetation along this route is sparse, allowing magical views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way and then, after taking some rest, move towards Ghorosingha where we will spend one night.
Day 08: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m)
Today’s trail heads to an even higher elevation where the main attraction is a monastery situated at the highest altitude in the world. We will have a wonderful view of the mountains’ beautiful landscape and spend one night.
Day 09: Explore Rara Lake
In this day, we will have an opportunity to explore the Rara Lake which is one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Nepal. This is an ideal place for relaxing and local exploration.
Day 10: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m)
The trail leads upwards through terraced lands with rice fields that seem impossibly green. It is an enjoyable day in preparation for further destinations to come. We will spend one night in Pina.
Day 11: Pina to Bumra (2850m)
After a pleasant and refreshing overnight stop in the high hill, we continue on the main trail which passes through a dense forest of red rhododendron. We will have our lunch on the way and slowly move towards Bumra where we will spend one night.
Day 12: Trek to Jumla (2540m)
Our trail descends and passes through a lush forest of birch. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see wonderful views of the mountains and beautiful landscape. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Jumla where we will spend one night.
Day 13: Fly to Nepalgunj, Fly to Kathmandu
From Jumla, we will move towards the local airport to fly to Nepalgunj. After the 20-minute flight, we will have our lunch and drive to the airport to fly to Kathmandu Valley. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will check out the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.
Day 14: Final Departure
We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful time in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
