Makalu Base Camp Trek is an outstanding trek which is located in the eastern region of the remote Himalayan part of Nepal. The route also passes through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful mountain views of this region. The trek begins from Tumlingtar after 50 minutes flight from Kathmandu valley. It is one of the most revered and adventurous activity to do and one of the greatest opportunities to truly experience the country’s many attributes in their finest form. From them, trekking is one of the most popular activities which can be done within the territory of the hidden part of Nepal. You will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful natural scenery. Most of the area of Nepal is not so well developed but the natural beauty of this land makes your journey more enjoyable and unforgettable and the warm welcome by the Nepalese in Nepal makes more memorable. Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you will land in the international airport of Kathmandu then there will one person from our company to take-off you. You will directly drive towards the hotel to check out. At night you will meet your guide and counsel about the trip. And have our dinner.      

Day 02: Fly to Tumlingtar and drive to Chichira (1,980m) 3-4 hours

Having breakfast in the hotel, we will slowly drive towards the airport to a scenic fly towards Tumlingtar. From Tumlingtar, we will drive towards Chichira. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly drive towards Chichira where we will spend one night.

Day 03: Trekking to Num (1,560m) 6-7 hours

This is the first-day walking trekking in the route Makalu Base Camp. Today after having breakfast we will slowly start our trekking. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain and beautiful village before reaching Num where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Trekking to Seduwa (1,500m) 6-7 hours

Today on a trail to an even higher elevation and the main attractions is monastery situated at the highest altitude in the world. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain beautiful landscape of this route and spend one night.

Day 05: Trekking to Tashigaon (2,100m) 4-5 hours

The vegetation is sparser, allowing magical views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Tashigaon where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.

Day 06: Trekking to Khongma Danda (3,500m) 6-7 hours

Our trail descends and passes through the lush forest of birch. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscape. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Khongma Danda where we will spend one night.

Day 07: Rest day in Khongma Danda

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Khongma Danda. At this day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which feels better and mental makeup for further trekking or journey.

Day 08: Trekking to Dobate 6-7 hours

While doing this day trek, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful villages. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Dobate where we will spend one night in this wonderful land.

Day 09: Trekking to Yangri Kharka (3,557m) 6-7 hours

We continue to climb as we are heading to the village of Yangri Kharka. At the beginning of this day trekking, we will enjoy the company of the mighty Himalayan and beautiful landscapes of this route.

Day 10: Trekking to Langmale Kharka (4,410m) 5-6 hours

The trail passes through the spectacular views of the mountain, the lush forest of rhododendron. The land becomes drier and vegetations spare as you travel to Langmale Kharka where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trekking to Makalu Base Camp (4,870m) 6-7 hours

Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will slowly move towards Makalu Base Camp. We will have wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful village, and many suspension bridges before reaching Makalu Base Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 12:  Rest day in Makalu Base Camp

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Makalu Base Camp. At this day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which feels better and mental makeup for further trekking or journey.

Day 13: Trekking to Yangri Kharka 6-7 hours

The terrace of the village and hit forest, ferns and woodland we will leave behind. We will also pass through several small villages and a few temples on the way before reach in Yangri Kharka where we will spend one night.

Day 14: Trekking to Dobate 6-7 hours

The trails follow a steep and narrow river village winding through deep woodland. Continuing walking on this route, you come to a long Mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Dobate.

Day 15: Trekking to Khongma Danda 5-6 hours

This day will have an opportunity to see the incredible magnificent views of the mountain while climbing or crossing the pass. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Khongma Danda where we will spend one night.

Day 16: Trekking to Tashigaon 4-5 hours

We trek through dense forest and pas few lakes on our way to Tashigaon. Today we make a long steep descent back to this beautiful village Tashigaon. On the route, we will have our lunch and slowly move towards Tashigaon where we will spend one night.

Day 17: Trekking to Seduwa 4-5 hours

We will pass the isolated village of the Barun River through small settlement and then we will cross the hillside. The trail comes across villages and settlements as we move further down finally stopping in Seduwa where we will spend a peaceful night.

Day 18: Trekking to Num 5-6 hours

The trail goes up and down passes through dense forest and Sherpa villages as we move downwards on our way to Num. On the route, we will have our lunch then after slowly move towards Num and spend one night.

Day 19: Trekking to Tumlingtar 6-7 hours

This is the last-day trekking in the where we will walk from Num to Tumlingtar. The trail passes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest. We will also pass through many suspension bridges before reaching Tumlingtar where we will spend one night.

Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu

In the morning, if the hotel is able to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast and slowly move towards the local airport of Tumlingtar to fly towards Kathmandu valley. Upon reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 21: Final departure
