Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang Valley Trek is famous for the glacier trek in the Langtang region. It is one of the closest trekking destinations from the Kathmandu Valley. The trek passes through pristine countryside and flora and fauna, as well as yak pastures. This route is a narrow valley which lies between the main Himalayan range and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks and visit glacier at a comfortably low elevation. Trekking to this region offers an opportunity to explore ethnic villages, oldest monasteries, a small peak, and glacier at comfortably low elevations. We will have a chance to enjoy the culture, traditions, and lifestyle of Sherpa and Tamang people who are the local inhabitant of this area. At the time of trekking, we will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, and pine forest. Langtang Valley Trek is one of the popular and easiest trekking routes in the Langtang region which begins from Syabrubesi which is too near the Kathmandu valley or which lies in the north of Kathmandu valley. The local folk who lives in the highlands of the Langtang regions are surely Nepalese but most of them trace their roots of Tibet because people of this wonderful land is originally from the Tibetan. It is one of the wonderful chances to know about the Nepalese people, their culture, traditions, and way of lifestyle of the Nepalese people. There are various types of culture and traditions which may make your holidays more exciting and wonderful. During the time of trekking, we have a great chance to see the wonderful views of the mountain which includes Langtang Lirung, Gang Chhenpo, Naya Kangri, Yala Peak, and many other popular mountains of this route. We will enter the Langtang national park which is known for the home of many rare birds, animals, flora, and fauna. Most of the area of this route is not so well developed but the natural beauty of this land makes your journey more enjoyable and unforgettable and the warm welcome by the Tamang people which makes more memorable.  For the trekking, the perfect time also needed and the perfect season for trekking February to April and September to December.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to meet you. You will directly drive to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, hear additional information about the trip, and have dinner.       

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 7-8 hours

Upon morning breakfast, we will slowly drive towards Syabrubesi. On the route, we have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and the lush forest of rhododendron. Before reaching Syabrubesi, we can get an opportunity to explore around the Chilime Hydropower winch is under the hills and spend one night in this wonderful Sherpa land.

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 6 hours

Today is the first day of trekking in the Langtang region where we walk from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. We will encounter suspension bridges as tthe trails gradually ascend up to a bamboo forest passing by the landslide. We will have our lunch on the way and then move towards Lama Hotel where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Trek to Mundu (3543m) 6-7 hours

The day starts with a gentle climb. We will pass through a lush forest of rhododendron, oak, and we will have an opportunity to see animals like such as langur, red panda, and Himalayan black bears before reaching Mundu where we will spend one night.

Day 05: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m) 4-5 hours

The trail winds through the village and climbs ridge topped by a large Chorten and then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall. After 4 to 5 hours walking we will reach our destination, check in at the hotel, explore all around the valley, and spend one overnight.

Day 06: Rest day in Kyangjin Gompa

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Kyangjin Gompa. At this day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which feels better and mental makeup for further trekking or journey.

Day 07: Trek to Lama Hotel 6-7 hours

The trail back follows the Langtang Khola and Langtang village and on to Ghore Tabela.  Most of the trek today will be downhill. We will pass through forest and a beautiful Tamang village before reaching Lama Hotel where we will spend one night.

Day 08: Trek to Syabrubesi 4-5 hours

The trailis  mostly downhill through the lush green vegetation. This is the last day trekking in this route. We will have our lunch on the way and then after some rest, we will move towards Syabrubesi and spend one night in this village.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu

We will drive back to Kathmandu valley on the same route we came. We will have our lunch on the way and drive to Kathmandu valley. After reaching Kathmandu, we will check into the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 10: Final departure

We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful time in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
