Langtang Tamang Heritage Trek

Langtang Tamang Heritage Trek is a beautiful trekking route in the Langtang region where you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery of the country bounded by green farmland, wonderful mountains, and beautiful landscapes. Trekking in this route offers you an off-the-beaten-track experience in a recently developed route with the charming mountain views. This wonderful trekking trail is newly discovered in the Langtang region which at the border to Tibet. We will enjoy a relatively gentle circuit trek through a charming village, terraced fields, and peaceful environment where we get only a few trekkers. The trek takes you to a beautiful valley of the Langtang region which is embedded with many azure-coloured mountain lakes. The region offers an opportunity to explore ethnic villages, the oldest monasteries, a small peak, and glacier at comfortably low elevations. We will have a chance to enjoy the culture, traditions, and lifestyle of Sherpa and Tamang people who are the local inhabitant of this area.

This route is also known as the closest trekking destination from Kathmandu valley. The trek passes through pristine countryside and flora and fauna, as well as yak pastures and the trek is on the journey to the wilderness Himalayan . We will start our trekking from the land of the beautiful Sherpa people which is called Syabrubesi.  It is a wonderful chance to see the beautiful village, mountain views, and the mixed culture of the people who are the local inhabitants of this wonderful land. Most of the people in this route are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. And the area of this route is not so well developed but the natural beauty of this land makes your journey more enjoyable and unforgettable and the warm welcome by the Tamang people which makes more memorable. During the time of trekking, we have a great chance to see the wonderful views of the mountain which includes Langtang Lirung, Gang Chhenpo, Naya Kangri, Yala Peak, and many other popular mountains of this route. We will enter the Langtang national park which is known for the home of many rare birds, animals, flora, and fauna. For the trekking, the perfect time also needed and the perfect season for trekking February to April and October to December.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to meet you. You will directly drive to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, hear additional information about the trip, and have dinner.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 8-9 hours

Upon morning breakfast, we will drive towards Syabrubesi. On the route, we have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountains and the lush forest of rhododendron. Before reaching Syabrubesi, we will have an opportunity to explore around the Chilime Hydropower winch is under the hills and spend one night in this wonderful Sherpa land.

Day 03: Trek to Gatlang (2,200m) 5 hours

The trails there are many Buddhist Chortens and Mani Walls. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, and we will also pass through the beautiful Tamang village.

Day 04: Trek to Tatopani (2607m) 6-7 hours

Today we make our way up to Tatopani. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see wonderful views of the mountains which includes Ganesh Himal and also see the beautiful natural scenery.

Day 05: Trek to Thuman (2,400m) 6 hours

The trek passes through the dense alpine forest and we will have chances to enjoy the beautiful Langtang massif and Ganesh Himal. After 6 hours of walking we will reach our destination, check into the hotel, explore all around the valley and spend  one overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Briddim (2,345m) 6 hours

The trail passes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest. We will also pass through many suspension bridges before reaching Briddim where we will spend one night.

Day 07: Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m) 6 hours

The suspension bridges the trails gradually ascend up to bamboo passing by the landslide. We will have our lunch on the way then after trek towards Lama Hotel where we will spend one night.

Day 08: Trek to Langtang village (3,430m) 6-7 hours

The day starts with a gentle climb. We will pass through a lush forest of rhododendron, oak, and have an opportunity to see animals such as Langur, red panda, and Himalayan black bears before reaching Langtang village where we will spend one night.

Day 09: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) 4 hours

The trail winds through the village, climbs a ridge topped by a large Chorten, and then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall. After 4 to 5 hours of walking we will reach our destination, check into the hotel, explore all around the valley, and spend one overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 4-5 hours

The trail heads back to Langtang Khola and Langtang village and on to Ghore Tabela.  Most of the trektoday will downhill. We will pass through forest and beautiful Tamang village before reaching Lama Hotel where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trek to Syabrubesi 5 hours

The trail descends to the landside and the routes separate from here to Syabrubesi. We can enjoy the fantastic landscapes and  majestic nature with splendid views of these ranges. We will have our lunch on the way and then after we will move towards Syabrubesi where we will spend one night.

Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu

We will back to Kathmandu valley from the same route where we move towards Syabrubesi. We will have our lunch on the way After reach ng Kathmandu, we will check into the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 13: Final Departure

We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful time in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
