Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most exciting and  breathtaking treks.  Its evergreen trekking course leads to you to wonderful historic ethnic villages and mountain scenery. It is one of the most popular and relatively easy treks that meander through the beautiful ethnic villages of the Annapurna region. The trek is the perfect one for you which offers an easy walk on the first day of the trek. It is an area of spectacular scenery, trekking through charming village inhabited by the Gurungs. The trek is perfect for people all age groups and is suitable as a family trek as well. The trek combines pristine natural scenery of the rhododendron forest and incredible Himalayan views on the backdrop. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is perfect for all age groups, but you will need good health for trekking. This most popular trekking begins from Pokhara, also known as the City of the Lake. The trail is maintained through a patchwork of valleys and dense mossy past icy waterfalls. The trekking into the region is full of surprises and an astonishing array of natural variety and beauty with dense forests of rhododendron. This trekking offers an introduction to the unique Gurung culture. There are various types of culture and traditions which may make your holidays more exciting and wonderful. The trek offers one of the most majestic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many other mountains of this route. We will have to a chance to enter the Annapurna Conservation Area which is well known as the home of many rare animals, birds, and local flora. Mostly Gurung people are found in this area and the people are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. For the trekking, the best time of year is from February to June and from September to November. We use the mountain lodges referred to as eahouses for our meals and accommodations.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2775m) 4-6 hours
Day 05: Trek to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2540m) 5-6 hour
Day 06: Trek to Ghandhruk (1940m) 2-3 hours
Day 07: Trek to Birethanti (1065m) and drive to Pokhara 3-5 hours
Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu
Day 09: Final Departure

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
When you land in the international airport in Kathmandu.  there will be a representative from our company to pick you up. You will be taken directly to your hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide and review your  trip and have dinner.      

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara 6-7 hour
The next morning, if the hotel is able to prepare breakfast then will have our breakfast in the hotel and if not we will have our breakfast on the way. We will have a scenic drive on the Prithvi highway where we will enjoy short stops for lunch and the scenic beauty all the way around. A 6-hour drive from Kathmandu Valley, we will reach Pokhara and we will check into the hotel and explore all around the valley, head back to the hotel, and spend overnight.

Day 03: Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m) 3-4 hours
Journey to Ghorepani Poon hill begins from today a short drive towards Naya Pul. And after reach in Naya Pul, we will take some rest and have our breakfast and slowly move towards Tikhedhunga. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans and the trail reaches a small village Sudami and we will have our lunch in this beautiful place then slowly move towards Tikhedhunga where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Trekto Ghorepani (2775m) 4-6 hours
While doing this day trek, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful villages. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Ghorepani where we will spend one night in this wonderful land.

Day 05: Trek to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2540m) 5-6 hour
In the early morning around 4 o clocks, we will start our trekking towards Poon Hill where we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the sunrise view. Not only the sunrise view from here we will have a wonderful view of the Mountain View also. After Mountain View, we will back to the hotel and have our breakfast and slowly move towards Tadapani where we will spend one night.

Day 06: Trek to Ghandhruk (1940m) 2-3 hours
The trekking trail descends steeply through a rhododendron forest to Baise Kharka where you can encounter monkeys and wide the variety of birds. It is easy trekking by descending gently all the way through oak, rhododendron, and other kinds of dense forest to Ghandhruk where we will spend one night.

Day 07: Trek to Birethanti (1065m) and drive to Pokhara 3-5 hours
Today is the last day of walking on this wonderful journey where we will walk from Ghandhruk to Birethanti. We will have our lunch on Naya Pul and from there, we will drive towards Pokhara city where we will spend one night.

Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu
We willhead back to the Kathmandu Valley on the same route where we moved towards Pokhara. At the time of this drive, we will have our lunch on the way and drive to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu valley, we will check into the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 09: Final Departure
We will drop you off at Tribuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful day in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
