Ganesh Himal Trek

Ganesh Himal Trek is non-tourist trekking trail in Nepalinthe remote Himalayan part. It is one of the most isolated and least explored areas in Nepal Himalayas. The terraced hills, the lush forests, diverse topography, and Tamang culture are the essence that makes this trekking worthwhile. This trek gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarters and intermingle with the local people. Trekking in this region, you will have an opportunity to explore the exotic views of its flora and fauna, especially during the spring season. The unexplored area is concealed between the popular destinations in the Langtang region and the Manaslu conservation area. Breathtaking trekking goes through a little-explored area of Nepal with stunning scenery and friendly villagers. We will walk past terraced farms and high altitude settlements of the Tamang during the trek, off-the-beaten-tracl. This route’s trekking offers a good opportunity to interact with the culture and traditions that have been preserved and untouched for centuries. While doing this trekking, trekkers can explore many interesting ethnic groups with a mix of lifestyles, offering you a glimpse into the real Nepal life. This trek gives visitors an opportunity to observe the locals in the closest quarters.

Ganesh Himal Trek lies in the central eastern part of Nepal which observes a different way of life, and come in contact with the people in the small village, and pass through the dense forests and meadows. At the time of trekking, you will experience diverse vegetation in just single day ranging from sub-tropical to alpine. The treks mostly lead you through remote and isolated land beyond human settlements for several days. The entire trek includes off-the-beaten-track trails combined with community home-stays, monastery overnights, and shopping adventures on local and traditional walking trails in Nepal. You will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful natural scenery. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountains which includes Ganesh Himal I, II, III, and IV, and many other mountains which can be seen from this route. The best season for trekking is February to April and October to December.

Day 03: Trek to Kispang (1600m) 5 hrs

Day 04: Trek to Thulo Chaur (2200m) 4 hrs

Day 05: Trek to Gonga (2900m) 6 hrs

Day 06: Trek to Rupchet (3635m) 4 hrs

Day 07: Trek to Kharka (2500m) 6-7 hrs

Day 08: Trek to Borang (1800m) 3 hrs

Day 09: Trek to Jharlang (1700m) 6 hrs

Day 10: Trek to Kintang Phedi (1200m) 6 hrs

Day 11: Trek to Khahare (1000m) 6 hrs

Day 12: Trek to Dhading Besi and back to Kathmandu 6-7 hrs

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land in the international airport of Kathmandu then there will be a representative from our company to pick you up. You will directly drive to the hotel to check in . At night you will meet your guide, get further information about the trip, and have dinner.

Day 02: Drive to Betrawati (850m) 8 hrs

The next morning, if the hotel is able to prepare breakfast then will have our breakfast in the hotel and if not we will have our breakfast on the way. We will have a scenic ride along the Prithvi highway where we will enjoy short stops for lunch and viewing the scenic beauty all around us. After an 8-hour drive from the Kathmandu Valley, we will reach Betrawati.  We will check into the hotel, explore all around the valley, return to the hotel, and stay overnight.

Day 03: Trek to Kispang (1600m) 5 hrs

The terrace of the village, forest, ferns and woodland will be left behind. This is the first-day of trekking. We will pass through several small villages and a few temples on the way before reaching Kispang where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Trek to Thulo Chaur (2200m) 4 hrs

The trek officially starts today with a gentle ascent passing by monasteries, small waterfalls, and local villages up to a beautiful Tamang village.

Day 05: Trek to Gonga (2900m) 6 hrs

After having breakfast, we trek on an ascending path through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest filled with some of the amazing wildlife. Our trail passes through the dense forest of red rhododendron.

Day 06: Trek to Rupchet (3635m) 4 hrs

Tere are many Buddhist Chortens and Mani Walls along the path. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain and beautiful landscapes, and we will also pass through the beautiful Tamang village.

Day 07: Trek to Kharka (2500m) 6-7 hrs

Along a ridge top to the east is a Gomba and cremation ground for both Buddhist and Christians lined with colorful flags. We will pass through the lush forest and beautiful valley, and have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain.

Day 08: Trek to Borang (1800m) 3 hrs

The trail you follow is decent at first and then it climbs up for some distance. On the route, we will have our lunch and then after taking some rest, will move towards Borang where we will spend one night.

Day 09: Trek to Jharlang (1700m) 6 hrs

Today we make our way up to Jharlang. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see wonderful views of the mountain, which includes Ganesh Himal, and also see the beautiful natural scenery.  

Day 10: Trek to Kintang Phedi (1200m) 6 hrs

A pleasant and refreshing overnight stop in the high hill and then we continue on the main trail. Our trail passes through the dense forest of red rhododendron. We will have our lunch on the way and then move towards Kintang Phedi where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trek to Khahare (1000m) 6 hrs 

The vegetation is sparser, allowing magical views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way and then, after taking some rest, move towards Khahare where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.

Day 12: Trek to Dhading Besi and back to Kathmandu 6-7 hrs

In the morning after having breakfast, we will walk towards Dhading Besi. After 3 to 4 hours walking from Kintang Phedi, we will reach Dhading Besi and have our lunch and then move towards Kathmandu Valley. After reach in Kathmandu, we will check in at the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night.

Day 13: Final departure

We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful time in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you and you will give another chance to serve you.
