Everest Three Pass Trek

Everest Three Pass Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the Everest region. This high pass trekking takes place in high altitude that often goes through rapid weather changes. The trek has outstanding views and adventurous fun walking on the two largest glaciers  in the Everest Base Camp area. The trek journey is complemented by visits to Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries to offer you an insight into the quiet but culturally vibrant Sherpa lifestyle. The Three Pass trekker is continuously rewarded with dramatic Himalayan scenes, beautiful landscapes, and an old monastery on this wonderful route. The scenery is simply breathtaking with the paradise of glistening peaks, stunning glaciers around, and ancient and ornate monasteries. This region is the most renowned of all the trekking routes all around the globe. It gives you the thrills and memories that will last a lifetime. Trekking in this region is one of the most revered and adventurous activity to do and one of the greatest opportunities to truly experience the country’s many attributes in their finest form.

Everest Three Pass Trek is one of the most challenging trekking destinations in the Everest region which is located in the eastern part of Nepal and lies in the Khumbu region. The trek begins from the Lukla valley after a 30-minute mountain flight from the Kathmandu Valley. At the time of trekking in this route, we will be warming welcomed by the Sherpa people who are the local people in this route. During the time of the trekking, we will have wonderful views of the mountain which include Mt Everest, Mt Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. We will have a chance to enter Sagarmatha National Park which is the home of many rare birds, animals, and local flora. While doing trekking in this route, we will have an opportunity to see an ld monastery on the way. The best time for trekking is from  February to June and from September to November.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land at Tribhuvan Iinternational Airport in Kathmandu, there will be a representative from our company to pick you up. You will be taken directly to your hotel to check in, meet your guide, review your  trip and have dinner.      

Day 02: Fly to Lukla and trekking to Phakding (2,651m) 3 – 4 hours

Having breakfast in the hotel, we will slowly drive towards the airport to a scenic fly towards Lukla which is also known as the gateway of the Everest region. From Lukla, we will start our trekking on foot. We will slowly walk towards Phakding where we will spend one night.

Day 03: Trekto Namche Bazaar (3,438m) 5 – 6 hours

The trail follows ascending through Himalayan pine and cedar forests. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain which is one of the highest mountains in the world Mt Everest. On the route, we will have our lunch and slowly move towards Namche Bazaar where we will spend one night.

Day 04: Rest day in Namche Bazaar

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Namche Bazaar. At this day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which feels better and mental makeup for further trekking or journey.

Day 05:  Trek to Tengboche (3860m) 5 – 6 hours

Today on a trail to an even higher elevation and the main attractions is monastery situated at the highest altitude in the world. We will have a wonderful view of the mountain beautiful landscape of this route and spend one night.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4,360 m) 5 – 6 hours

Our trail descends and passes through the lush forest of birch. On the route, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscape. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Dingboche where we will spend one night.

Day 07: Rest day in Dingboche

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Dingboche. At this day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which feels better and mental makeup for further trekking or journey.

Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4750m) 6 – 7 hours

Our trail passes through the stone-walled fields. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Chhukung from Dingboche. The trail passes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest. We will also pass through many suspension bridges before reaching Chhukung and spend one night.

Day 09:  Kongma La pass summit (5535m) trek to Lobuche (4940m) 6 – 7 hours

We begin today trekking very early in the morning because today we have to summit Kongma La Pass and then trek towards Lobuche. This is one of the adventure days long walking day but you will feel proud after crossing the pass and spend a peaceful night in Lobuche.

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep (5170 m) 6-7 hours

There is also a lot of meandering on rough terrains and this is the last settlement along the route. We can enjoy the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful landscapes. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Gorak Shep where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trek to Kala Patthar (5545 m) then back to Lobuche (4940 m) 8 – 9 hrs

In the early morning, we will start our trekking towards Kala Patthar. Today we will cross Kala Patthar. After crossing the Kala Patthar, we will back down to Lobuche. On the way, we will have a wonderful view of the mountain and beautiful landscape. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Lobuche where we will spend overnight.

Day 12: Trek to Dzongla (4830m) 3 – 4 hours

The vegetation is sparser, allowing magical views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Dzongla where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.

Day 13: Trek to Gokyo (4800m) 7 – 8 hours

While doing this day trek, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful villages. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Gokyo Lake where we will spend one night in this wonderful land.

Day 14: Rest day in Gokyo

This day is for the rest day that’s why we don’t start our trekking. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then after we will explore all around the Gokyo valley. Not only that, we will have an opportunity to climb up to the Gokyo Ri and also have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain views.

Day 15: Trek to Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) 7 – 8 hours

The trail moves alongside Dudh Pokhari for a while and on the way, we are rewarded with extravagant views of the Himalayan and Rolwaling ranges and other. It makes an awesome feeling to trekkers. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Marlung and spend one night.

Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar 5 – 6 hours

This day trekking trail slightly goes uphill to Namche Bazaar. We will have an opportunity to explore the beautiful valley of the route. We will pass through the lush forest, beautiful valley, and get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla 6 – 7 hours

This is the last-day trekking in the Everest region where we will walk from Namche Bazaar to Lukla. The trail passes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest. We will also pass through many suspension bridges before reaching Lukla where we will spend one night.

Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu

In the morning, if the hotel is able to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast and slowly move towards the local airport of Lukla to fly towards Kathmandu valley. Upon reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 19: Final Departure
