Chulu West Peak Climbing offers some of the most splendid  peak climbing in the whole Himalayas. It is situated in the Annapurna region and stands out as a great climbing destination for mountaineers. Most of the climbing will involve walking roped together, including the glacier crossing. The whole trip will give you a thrilling climbing and trekking adventure of a lifetime with wonderful Himalayan views. The panorama even stretches beyond the Himalayan across the plains of Tibet. We will be able to enjoy the landscapes of Manang and its unique settlements. At the time of this peak climbing, we will pass through the dense forest area of pine, fir, oak tree admiring the natural vegetation of this region. You should be very fit and have good experience of climbing. The view from the summit is simply breathtaking. The trail leads slowly to the Manang Valley which is one of the highest valleys in the world.

Chulu West Peak Climbing begins from Syange after 8 hours drive from Kathmandu valley. It is also considered one of the best climbing peaks in the Annapurna region For climbing the peak you do not need previous experience however the climbing teams need to be prepared mentally as well as physically for the adventurous climbing. The trekking along the way to this peak climbing is adventurous and easy, but the peak climbing is tougher. The trek also offers a wide range of several villages along the way with ethnicities and diverse cultural attractions including sacred mountains and the highest lake in the world. The trip also offers magnificent views of the beautiful landscapes as well as the mixed culture and lifestyle of the Nepalese people. The trek offers one of the most majestic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many other mountains on this route. The climbing combines pristine natural scenery of the rhododendron forest and incredible Himalayan views on the backdrop. For the trekking, the best season is March to May and September to October.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu  there will be a representative from our company to greet you. You will directly drive to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, receive additional information about the trip, and have dinner.      

Day 02: Drive to Syange (1100m) 8 – 10 hrs

The very next morning, if the hotel is able to prepare breakfast then will have our breakfast in the hotel and if not we will have our breakfast on the way. We will enjoy a scenic drive along the Prithvi highway where we will enjoy short stops for lunch and to view the scenic beauty all the way around. After a 8 to 10-hour drive from theKathmandu Valley, we will reach Syange, will check in at the hotel, explore all around the valley. and back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 03: Trek to Dharapani (1,960m) 7 – 8 hrs

It takes almost 7 to 8 hours to reach Dharapani from Syange. The trail from the Syange descends until it reaches the river and then continues through the lush forest.  We will spend one night in Dharapani.

Day 04: Trek to Chame (2,710m) 6 – 7 hrs

We will walk through a few forested ridges on our way to Chame. This place is also known as the headquarters of the Manang District. We will have our lunch on the way and then after we will slowly move towards Chame where we will spend one night.

Day 05: Trek to Pisang (3,300m) 5 – 6 hrs

The trails follow a steep and narrow river village winding through deep woodland. Continuing walking on this route, you come to a long Mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Pisang.

Day 06: Trek to Manang (3,500m) 6 – 7 hrs

Leaving Pisang, the trail climbs the steep ridge that affords good views of the Manang valley. The trail guarantees excellent views of the beautiful landscapes and the mighty mountain. This is the largest district.

Day 07: Rest day in Manang

This day is for the rest day. Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then will explore all around the Manang Valley. We will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which may assist in preparing for further trekking.

Day 08: Trek to Leder (4200m) 4 – 5 hrs

We continue through the alpine landscapes with high altitude vegetation and forests. Our trek continues until we arrive at the grazing grounds of Leder. A gradual  slope takes us to Yak Kharka and then to today’s camp and we will spend one night in Leder.

Day 09: Trek to Chulu West Base Camp (4900m) 4 – 5 hrs

Our trek will continue and pass through additional alpine vegetation. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain and we may also like to discover the surrounding areas. We will walk through in the grass line and form the scenic ridge and reach a base camp where we will spend one night.

Day 10: Trek to camp I (5100m) 4 – 5 hrs

We can see the meadow land where the local people let their yaks graze. Our trail is often snow covered and icy and the route is not that technical. You will have a wonderful view of the mountain which includes Annapurna, Gangapurna, Tilicho, and many other mountains of this route.

Day 11: Rest day in Camp I

This day is for the rest day.  Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast then we will explore all around Camp I. We will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery.

Day 12: Trek to Camp II (5,530m) 4 – 5 hrs

Today we will make use of ropes, crampons and even ice axes as we climb towards Camp II. The route is not that technical. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch and slowly move towards Camp II where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Summit Chulu West (6419m) and back to Camp I 9 – 10 Hrs

Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will slowly walk towards Chulu West. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of a mountain before reach in Chulu West. After reach in Chulu West, we will have our lunch then after we will slowly move towards Camp I where we will spend overnight.

Day 14: Trek to Leder 5 – 6 Hrs

Gradually descending through the alpine vegetation, we will trek until we arrive at the good grazing grounds of Leders. We can  enjoy the glorious view all the way around the horizon with towering mountains.

Day 15: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4450m) 3 – 4 hrs

Today we will make our way to the foot of the pass to Thorong Phedi. A short ascent up the mountain path on the river bank, we will follow a narrow trail across an unstable screed slope and then we will reach Thorong Phedi. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Thorong Phedi where we will spend one night.

Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2,715m) 7 – 8 hrs

From here, we will trek on the windy trail of Kali Gandaki Valley. After walking 7 to 8 hours from Thorong Phedi we will finally reach Jomsom. Before reaching Jomsom, we will have an opportunity to see caves, meadows, and also reach Kagbeni which is one of the best places on this trek.

Day 17: Fly to Pokhara

After having breakfast, we will drive towards the local airport of Jomsom to take a flight towards Pokhara Valley which is also known as the home or the City of the Lake. After reaching Pokhara, we will explore and spend one night in this beautiful valley.

Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu

We will drive back to the Kathmandu Valley. Along this drive, we will have our lunch and after reaching Kathmandu, we will check in at the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night.

Day 19: Final Departure

We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful day in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not be the last chance to serve you.
