Chulu East Peak Climbing

Chulu East Peak Climbing is one of the most gorgeous peaks in the Annapurna region. It is also well suited for an expeditionary style ascent with group members playing an active role in establishing the intermediary camps while preparing for the summit. This is the mutual combination of trekking trail around the Annapurna massif mounting the Marshyangdi valley and passing the Thorong La. You should be very fit and have good experience of climbing. The climber must be familiar with the use of climbing equipment like Crampons, ice ax, climbing ropes, and tying knots. The climb to this peak climbing is a strenuous one, therefore previous experience in climbing is required. The actual climbing involves glacial crossing, snow walking, and climbing steep scree slopes. It usually understood that with the permit to climb this peak, an attempt can be made to the nearby peak as well. Most of the climbing involved will be walking roped together, including the glacial crossing. This trip and climb is difficult to match for its spectacular mountain scenery, and trekking and mountaineering challenges. At the time of this peak climbing, we will pass through the dense forest area of pine, fir, oak tree admiring the natural vegetation of this region.

Chulu East Peak Climbing is one of the most challenging peaks for climbing in the Annapurna region. The view from the summit is simply breathtaking. The trail leads slowly to the Manang Valley which is one of the highest valleys in the world. The trek is the perfect one for you which offers easy walk on the first day of the trek. This climbing will lead to a most remote valley where you will witness the Gurung culture and walk through sub-tropical pine and red blooming rhododendron forest and abundant wildlife. For climbing the peak you do not have to have previous experience however the climbing teams need to be prepared mentally as well as physically for the adventurous climbing. The trek offers one of the most majestic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many other mountains of this route. You also need to be perfect physical condition to venture on this trek. For the trekking, the perfect time is also needed and the perfect season for trekking March to May and September to November.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu there will be a representative from our company to meet you. You will drive directly to the hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide, get additional information about the trip, and have dinner.      

Day 02: Drive to Chame (2,710m) 9 – 10 hrs

The very next morning, if the hotel is able to prepare breakfast then we will have our breakfast in the hotel. If not, we will have our breakfast on the way. We will have a scenic ride on the Prithvi highway where we will enjoy short stops for lunch and a chance to view the scenic beauty all the way around. After a 9 to 10-hour drive from the Kathmandu Valley, we will reach Chame, check into the hotel, and spend one night.

Day 03: Trek to Pisang (3,300m) 5 – 6 hrs

The trails follow a steep and narrow river winding through deep woodland. Continuing to walk on this route, you come to a long Mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Pisang.

Day 04: Trek to Humde Village (3,330m) 3 – 4 hrs

Today we will walk through the beautiful pine and rhododendron forest. We will trek to the splendid Humde village. You will notice the surrounding schanging as natural trees and plants become scarcer as the terrain begins to shift to a drier more desert-like environment.

Day 05: Trek to Julu Khola (3,500m) 3 – 4 hrs

We will climb downhill and then walk upstream all along the Marshyangadi River to reach Julu Khola. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will cross many suspension bridges before reaching Julu Khola where we will spend one night in this wonderful land.

Day 06: Rest Day at Julu Khola

This day is for the rest day.  Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast and then explore all around Julu Khola. We will have an opportunity to spend some time in the monastery which can help to mentally prepare for further trekking.

Day 07: Trek to Chulu Far East Base Camp (5,000m) 5 – 6 hrs

We will have gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. We will begin our hike for the day with a walk through vertical grazing land to a vacant set where the pasture fuses with the rock.

Day 08: Rest Day at Chulu Far East Base Camp

This day is for the rest day.  Early in the morning after wake up, we will have our breakfast, and then explore all around Chulu Far East Base Camp. Onthis day, we will explore villages and get an opportunity to spend some time another monastery.

Day 09: Trek to Chulu Far East High Camp (5,500m) 3 – 4 hrs

We will gradually ascend to Chulu Far East High Camp where the trail continues. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Chulu Far East High Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 10: Trek back to Chulu Far East Peak (6,059m) to Base Camp 8 – 9 Hrs

Early in the morning, we will start our trekking because today we will summit Chulu Far East Peak. The steep ascending trail has crossing paths that require technical guidelines and then we’ll climb the High Climb. After completing to the summit of the Chulu Far East Peak, we will back to Base Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trek to Manang (3,35m) 5 – 6 hrs

Leaving Pisang Base Camp, the trail climbs the steep ridge that affords good views of the Manang Valley. The trail guarantees excellent views of the beautiful landscapes and the mighty mountain.

Day 12: Trek to Siri Kharka (4,060m) 4 – 5 hrs

We will cross the rivers and continue walking on the south side of the river through coniferous forests toward Khangsar village. The trail passes through several small villages and wonderful views of the mountain. We will have our lunch on the way and then after slowly move towards Siri Kharka where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4,140m) 5 – 6 hrs

From here, we will have a wonderful view of Lake Tilicho Lake which is situated in the highest altitude. We will have our lunch on the way and move towards Base Camp where we will spend one night.

Day 14: Visit to Tilicho Lake (4,949m)

This day is for the rest day. We will have our breakfast then explore all around the Tilicho Lake.

Day 15: Trek to Yak Kharka (4,200m) 7 – 8 hrs

From Tilicho base camp, the trail heads  towards Yak Kharka where we cross a stream, climb to the village of Tenki and then continue to climb out of the Marshyangdhi Valley, turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola.

Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2,743m) 7 – 8 hrs

From here, we will trek on the windy trail of the Kali Gandaki Valley. After walking 7 to 8 hours from Yak Kharka we will finally reach Jomsom. On the way, we will have an opportunity to see caves, meadows, and also reach Kagbeni which is one of the best places in this trekking.

Day 17: Fly to Pokhara

After having breakfast, we will drive towards the local airport of Jomsom to take a flight towards Pokhara Valley which is also known as the home or the City of the Lake. After reaching Pokhara, we will explore around the valley and spend one night.

Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu

We will ride back to the Kathmandu Valley  and have our lunch on the way. After reaching Kathmandu, we will check into the hotel, spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar, and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 19: Final Departure

We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport with the hope that you have had a wonderful stay in our small country. We will also be hoping that this will not the last chance to serve you.
