Arun Valley Trek

Arun Valley Trek is really non-touristy trekking trail in Nepal which is located in the eastern part of Nepal. It is a fully camping trek that has everything to offers you which is blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty and culture. This trek gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarter and intermingle with the local people. Trekking in this region, you will have an opportunity to explore the exotic views of its flora and fauna, especially during the spring season. This is one of the most underrated trek routes in the country. This trail also leads you through unfamiliar regions, where you are face-to-face with the people. The upper reaches of the trails resemble towering polished granite cliffs capped by hanging glacier and overflowing with waterfalls. In this route trekking, it is a good opportunity to interact with the culture and traditions that are preserved and untouched for centuries. Arun Valley Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the eastern part of Himalayan Nepal. You will experience diverse vegetations in just single day that ranges from sub-tropical vegetations region to alpine vegetation region. The treks mostly lead you through the remote and isolated land where the trekkers will be the trekking beyond the human settlements for several days. The entire treks are an off-the-beaten-trail with combined community home-stay and monastery overnight shopping treks through the local and traditional walking trails in Nepal. The route also passes through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful mountain views of this region. The trek begins from Tumlingtar after 50 minutes flight from Kathmandu valley. It is one of the most revered and adventurous activity to do and one of the greatest opportunities to truly experience the country’s many attributes in their finest form. From them, trekking is one of the most popular activities which can be done within the territory of the hidden part of Nepal. For the trekking, the perfect time also needed and the perfect season for trekking March to May and September to November.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

When you will land in the international airport in Kathmandu.  there will be one person from our company to pick you up. You will be taken directly to your hotel to check in. At night you will meet your guide and review your  trip and have dinner.      

Day 02: Fly to Tumlingtar (937m)

Having breakfast in the hotel, we will slowly drive towards the airport to a scenic fly towards Tumlingtar. After a 30 minutes flight from Kathmandu valley, we will reach Tumlingtar. Upon reaching in Tumlingtar, first of all, we will check out the hotel and explore all around the valley and spend one night.

Day 03: Trek to Gothey

All the way, we will pass through the fields and then walk among terraced rice meadows on the shore of the Arun Koshi. The trail continues along the north bank of the Khola through a steamy landscape of the ice terraced. We will have our lunch on the way then after having lunch; we will move towards Gothey and spend one night.

Day 04: Trek to Phedi (1680m)

The trail leads upwards through terraces lands with rice fields that seem impossible green. It is an enjoyable day in preparation for our further destinations to come.

Day 05: Trek to Gurase (2880m)

The trek passing through the dense alpine forest and you will have enough chances to enjoy the wonderful views of the mountain. After 6 to 7 hours walking we will reach our destination and first of all will check out the hotel and explore all around the valley and spend overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Sanam

Today we will pass through a rhododendron forest dotted with overgrown Mani Wall and Stupa. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Sanam where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.

Day 07: Trek to Bung (1900m)

The trail winds through the village and climbs ridge topped by a large Chorten and then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall. After 4 to 5 hours walking we will reach our destination and first of all will check out the hotel and explore all around the valley and spend overnight.

Day 08: Trek to Gaikharka

The trail mostly downhill through the lush green vegetations and the trail will mostly involve descending. This is the last day trekking in this route. We will have our lunch on the way then after taking some rest and slowly move towards Gaikharka and spend one night in this village.

Day 09: Trek to Vasme

Leaving Gaikharka, the trail climbs the steep ridge that affords good views of the Vasme valley. The trail guarantees excellent views of the beautiful landscapes and the mighty mountain. And in this wonderful land, we will spend a peaceful night.

Day 10: Trek to Pangum (2850m)

We will hike down a little distance to reach Pangum. The track moves up for an hour all the way through the forest before reaching Pangum where we will spend one night.

Day 11: Trek to Painya (2730m)

There is a small tea house on the top of the pass and we can go for an exploration of the region. Terrain can be frustrating, with the trail diverting into side valleys and being far from a direct line to Painya where we will spend one night.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2840m)

This is the last-day trekking in the Everest region where we will walk from Painya to Lukla. The trail passes through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest. We will also pass through many suspension bridges before reaching Lukla where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu

In the morning, if the hotel is able to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast and slowly move towards the local airport of Lukla to fly towards Kathmandu valley. Upon reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and spend some time around the Thamel Bazaar and spend one night in this wonderful valley.

Day 14: Final departure

We will drop you towards the international airport with the hope that you have a wonderful day in our small country.
